Hello this is Split 1 and I am blogging with namaspirit today to talk about how the various life styles and arts and teas can work together…

I’ve been friends with Aaron Suski for years and catch him around the southwest occasionally. He is more well known today in the skateboarding community than in previous years due to all the hard work he’s put in on the board and his positive way of interacting with other skateboarders. He’s one to watch out for so keep your eyes open and your feet on the board.

A cup of tea a day keeps the skate doc away.

We have added his video to our playlist at youtube which is where a lot of the event promotion and social networking is happening. We youtube to organize skate and tea sessions and do our best to connect through it. As part of the global community behind sustainability, we believe that arts have a big part to play in raising awareness about solutions.

On my skate journey through life I have choose home brewed teas as my energy drink of choice to help out on skate days which happen everyday

The name Joru was the name given to the Tibetan King, Gesar, when he was a child. Gesar is renowned throughout Tibet not only as a great King, but also as an enlightened being. When Joru was a small boy, he lived with his single mother under very poor conditions. As Joru grew older, he eventually transcended the conditions of his difficult life, and grew up to be a great being. The symbolism of Joru is one of realizing your greatest potential. We see the same potential embodied by Joru as we do in so many of these children.

Kersten Ancheta is an indispensible part of the Joru Foundation, providing her expertise in the areas of fundraising as well as years of experience in caring for the elderly. NamaSpirit toured Australia with Kersten and she has always been a leader and solution maker. Make sure you awaken to her work with Joru!

The Joru Foundation is embarking on an exciting new project: the building of a traditional Tibetan medical college. For centuries, Tibetan medicine has proved as an extremely effective way to treat illness. Tibetan medicine does not employ surgery as a means of curing the patient, and it is also cost effective. The Tibetan medical tradition is rich, vast, profound, and based on the principals of Buddhism. Unfortunately, the study and practice of Tibetan medicine is in a state of decline, particularly in Eastern Tibet and Golok.

For many years, Khenpo Kunzang Gyaltsen has had an idea that is very close to his heart: to build a traditional Tibetan medical college. The Joru Foundation is hoping that we can help in some way to make this vision a reality.
